Double Crochets @ Past Tense

Did you miss us? We sure did! Time does fly, that's something we learned over the past weeks. One moment we were working like crazy getting ready for "Past Tense" , the vintage and crafts bazaar, next moment here we are, three weeks later, still recovering from it! Easter came, Marietta has some wonderful news (tba!), two close friends got married and ..omg its almost May!
Today we want to share with you our experience from our first participation ever on a bazaar. But before that, we want to thank each and everyone who came by the bazaar to support us!! We were amazed by the wonderful turnout and we just want you to know that, we appreciate you! Also a big "thanks!" to our friends, they are super precious, and last but not least, we want to thank Les Broderies Anglaises for having us at this wonderful bazaar!

and Double Crochets (again)

The experience was amazing and we learnt a lot of stuff almost by the moment we set our feet at the bazaar (a bit late though)! The night before, we were up late preparing the last details, and we didn't sleep well because of the anxiety! We have surely underestimate how much there was to do! Eirini (the girl, we had our shops back to back with) told us, that we were pretty well prepared for our first time, though.
We were super happy and we were crocheting at the time we were waiting for someone to show up. We met a lot of new people and a lot of our friends came by and say hi . We enjoyed a lot this contact with "customers" and we also enjoyed being among the nicest crafters that we've met before. We are super proud of ourselves and our little shoppe! And a strange fact: the things we didn't expect to sell, were selling like freshly baked buns and the ones we thought that would be the best sellers, didn't sell much!

So that was it! we had a hell of a time, and we can't wait for our next adventure! See you next time!!

Bows all around

We know you love them, you know we love them! everyone loves them!
As you might already know, this weekend we are debuting our lovely Double Crochets' shop, in the fabulous vintage and crafts bazaar "Past Tense", taking place at Ginger Ale (Themistokleous 74, Exarheia).
It was on our new year's resolution list to participate in this bazaar and it seems we are crossing it out from our list, soon...

Today we are proudly presenting: Bows all around.
It's an all-year-long accessory that can be styled on ones hair with different hairstyles, easy and fun, it can style up every outfit. (You can check our related post on styling a bow for fun inspiration). For a fresh and cool result we did use high quality cotton yarn, and some gingham fabric for a spring sense! A more bulky version was achieved with regular sweet colored yarns.

Some ideas on how to style them:
You can either style one, or a pair of bows, depending on the hairstyle.

So these are some ways you can put our bows in your daily outfit.
The last photo is my personal favourite and my favourite hairstyle ever (wish I could have this). Isn't Panagiota the cutest?! I just adore how she poses!

Socks with personality...

Do you remember what you used to wear when you were little? We really have the sweetest memories of our childhood clothes. Our grandmother used to sew for us, our Sunday clothes. Several matching outfits that she loved to decorate with little details!  While brainstorming for our Double Crochets shop's goodies, we came across this little project of one of the most talented lady blogger ever, and we fell of the sky! We used to have these when we were young!!! So there was it, we had to have socks with crocheted trim, on our top list for Past Tense spring bazaar, that we are participating!

enjoy our version:

there are ideal for a 50's outfit.
we promise to post more photos on how we style them!
and maybe some childhood outfit photos, too?
